ICVA publishes new report on advancing AFS’s strategic approach

ICVA’s report for AFS on best practices for humanitarian pooled funds was published on 24 March. ICVA gathered lessons from eight humanitarian pooled funds operating in challenging contexts to support the ongoing development of AFS’s strategic approach.

The report highlights best practices in localisation, complementarity, and connecting emergency response with longer-term support. Key recommendations include introducing multi-year funding, establishing a dedicated emergency reserve, and enhancing accountability and reporting systems. It also underlines the importance of clear and consistent communication with partners and donors.
