AFS has contributed US$ 260,000 to the REACH initiative. Using its Humanitarian Situation Overview for Syria (HSOS) tool, which draws on over 1,000 key informant interviews, REACH provides critical insights into priority multi-sectoral needs and trends through regular rounds of data collection across Syria. HSOS also includes a severity map, which maps humanitarian issues at a community level based on 31 indicators. REACH’s most recent HSOS fact sheet, covering the period from July to August 2025, is available here.
AFS’s support is enabling REACH to continue publishing essential humanitarian data that supports evidence-based decision making across the humanitarian response. AFS has already utilised insights from HSOS to inform the strategy of its upcoming Special Allocation 3, including prioritisation of target locations and sectors.
