AFS has launched its 2025–2030 Strategy, setting out a bold, principled, and adaptable approach to address Syria’s evolving recovery needs. Building on the foundations of AFNS and informed by the Humanitarian-Development-Peacebuilding (HDP) nexus, the strategy is designed to bridge the gap between humanitarian aid and recovery through flexible, risk-managed, and locally anchored programming at the national level.
The strategy introduces a phased implementation approach that aligns funding, governance, and programming with Syria’s evolving recovery needs over the next five years. It is anchored in four strategic pillars; Integration and Synergy, Localisation and Empowerment, Insight and Innovation, and Quality and Accountability. These pillars are designed to ensure that aid is timely, community-led, and grounded in real-time evidence, enabling meaningful and sustainable impact.
With a strong localisation mandate and a focus on civic leadership, the strategy reinforces AFS’s role as a key platform for principled, cost-effective, and scalable recovery across Syria. The strategy is available on the AFS website.
