AFS launched its Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Approach, turning its commitments into practical guidance for the Fund and its partners to better address the needs of women, girls, and marginalised groups throughout its work in Syria. Building on previous programming and lessons learned, the Approach strengthens the integration of gender equality and social inclusion across funding decisions, programme design, implementation, and monitoring. It also provides guidance to strengthen partner capacities to promote meaningful participation of marginalised groups, ensuring interventions are responsive, inclusive, and locally grounded. To date, AFS-funded programmes have reached 3.37 million women and more than 160,200 persons with disabilities across Syria.
