The Aid Fund for Syria (AFS) has activated its Emergency Response Framework to disburse US$ 400,000 to national partners Humanitarian Relief Association (IYD) and Mercy Without Limits (MWL) to address needs in Aleppo and Idleb governorates. Launched in November 2025, the Framework enables the Fund to respond quickly and flexibly to evolving humanitarian crises.

“The Emergency Response Framework is one of AFS’s most effective tools for responding in moments of acute needs”, said Murad Maithalouni, AFS’s Executive Director. “It allows us and our partners to ensure assistance reaches people when timing matters most”.

In light of harsh winter weather and increased displacement following the escalation of hostilities in Aleppo City in early January, IYD and MWL are targeting areas hosting newly displaced households. Ongoing activities include providing 10,000 litres of heating fuel to four reception centres (supporting 1,000 households), distributing multipurpose cash grants to more than 1,500 households, and delivering mobile protection services to 2,500 individuals, including child protection, gender‑based violence, and psychological first aid support.
