What is AFS?

The Aid Fund for Syria is a humanitarian multi-donor pooled fund championing locally-led system-strengthening and innovative solutions to address humanitarian needs. As an enabler of the Humanitarian-Development-Peacebuilding (HDP) Nexus, it provides direct funding to local, national and international organisations across Syria in all humanitarian sectors.

How is AFS governed?

AFS is overseen by an independently chaired Steering Board composed of national and international NGOs and international donors. Syrian civil society representatives participate as observers. AFS is committed to continuously refining its governance structure to enhance representation and inclusivity.

The fund manager is Adam Smith International, a global advisory firm and registered B Corp specialising in international development.
